Welcome to the Herbert H. Lehman H.S. website! Our school is a comprehensive high school that is located in the Throggs Neck area of the Bronx. Our entire staff is intent on assisting the students in their pursuit of academic achievement as well as helping them to become well-rounded adults who can think critically, have a global perspective on societal issues, and communicate clearly. It is equally important for the students to develop an ethical value system that will be their moral compass in their personal and professional lives.

Throughout the years, the staff has worked diligently to provide a personalized, nurturing environment for all the students.   In many instances there is a cohort of teachers educating a cohort of students. The guidance counselors have small-sized caseloads with additional support staff assigned to work with them. 

The school offers many diverse programs, courses, extra- and co-curricular activities that are designed to enhance and enrich the educational experiences of all students. Students have opportunities to participate in those that appeal to their individualized interests. In addition, many of the teachers take the time to plan educational trips to supplement the core curriculum. For the athlete or spectator, there are 32 PSAL sports programs. The programs are so varied that there is something for everyone!
